Question standards

How our questions are made

We're often asked whether our question bank is AI-generated. The honest answer is that AI plays a part — and we think you should know exactly what part.

Every question begins as an AI-assisted draft, built from current oncology guidelines, standard reference texts and the published FRCR Part 1 syllabus. That draft is then reviewed, edited and signed off by clinicians who have themselves passed the FRCR Clinical Oncology examinations. They correct factual errors, rewrite items that test recall rather than applied reasoning, and reject anything that wouldn't stand up in the real exam.

We use AI because it lets a small team produce and maintain a large, current question bank — not as a substitute for clinical judgement. The judgement is human, and it comes from people who have sat the exam you're preparing for.

We're not finished. We review flagged questions continuously and rewrite anything our users tell us falls short. If you find a question that doesn't meet this standard, flag it — we read every one.
